Dormer Addition
The addition of a 12x12 ft bedroom to this Portland Craftsman style house was done to accommodate a growing family. This project combined craftsman style elements with green and efficient building practices. The structure of the house was upgraded from the foundation up through the house. The new vaulted ceiling and walls were insulated using recycled cotton insulation. New insulated wood interior and clad exterior windows were installed and trimmed to match the style of the house. The siding was done in red cedar shingles. The front fascia boards were cut in a decorative pattern. Low VOC paints were used to finish the project.

Art Studio
This structure was built on the site of an existing garage. The old garage was deconstructed, and useful parts were recycled. The remaining concrete slab was cut into pieces to be used as pavers and planters on the property. A new foundation was poured for the new 12x16-foot studio. Large, reclaimed windows were worked into the design. The studio was insulated with recycled cotton insulation and finished with blue-stained pine on the interior. A white metal roof reflects the summer heat and keeps the studio dry for year-round work. The project was designed in cooperation with the homeowner and Green Light Construction.

Tiled Bathroom
This outdated bathroom needed to be renovated. We took it down to the studs, and removed the floor in preparation for some fantastic features. In the corner of the bathroom a new 5x5ft double walk-in shower was custom built. A five and a half foot cast iron claw foot tub sits in the other corner of the room. The new marble floor has electric radiant heating beneath, on a digital timer. A laundry chute was built into the new cabinets. It runs from the second floor to the basement laundry room. The room is finished in a mix of paint and wood stain finishes.
